I covered Hall and Oats' "Rich Girl" for this amazing Swedish compellation. I remember the song from my grammar school days… It was a bright spot in my otherwise brutal, Dickensian childhood. I remember singing the song to myself while I labored in the sweltering tobacco fields. I remember wishing I had a rich girlfriend who could rescue me from my fate as the eldest son of an alcoholic factory worker. In my fantasy I would, of course, spurn the Rich Girl. I would revert to type and flip her the finger as she drove off in her Porsche. "Rich Girl" is one of the many gems that Hall and Oates produced... a song so catchy that surgery is required to remove it, once it begins playing in your head.
