The title says it all. NY stalwarts Grand Mal have been playing sleazy punk’n’roll since 1996, but went on hiatus just as the rest of the world came round to their perspective. They’ve left the gutter behind for this third album; an elegant dive into open-hearted Stones and Faces territory, with a deadpan Mary Chain aspect to the vocal. Guitars slide, cymbals crash, a piano tumbles…and all is a good time and bourbon.
